Rami Gershon, born on 12 August 1988 in Israel, is a 36-year-old footballer who commits his time and talent to Maccabi Haifa as a central defender. Gershon, who dons the number 55 jersey, is a player of formidable stature, standing 6ft 2in (1.89m) tall and weighing 12st 12lb (82kg). His football journey has seen him across numerous clubs and countries, etching his mark in the beautiful game.
In July 2009, Gershon began his international career at Standard Liege in the Belgian Pro League. However, his time at Liege was marred with scant playing time, making only one, nine, and one first team appearances in the league during the 2009-2010, 2011-2012, and 2012-2013 seasons respectively.
In a bid for more gameplay, Gershon transferred to Kortrijk on loan for the 2010-2011 season, where he made a promising 27 first team appearances and netted one goal. Unfortunately, his time at Kortrijk was cut short and he was returned to Standard Liege, where his struggles for game time continued.
In a major boost to his career, Gershon transferred on loan to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership in January 2013. Despite his brief spell at Celtic, he played three first team league matches and scored one goal in the 2012-2013 season.
Seeking a fresh start, Gershon transferred from Standard Liege to Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian Derde Klasse in July 2013 for an undisclosed fee. Even though his time at Beveren saw him play only 12 first team appearances and score one goal, it marked the beginning of a new chapter for him.
Gershon's career took another turn with his transfer to Gent, again for an undisclosed fee, where he donned the club's jersey for three seasons (2014-2017). At Gent, he played a total of 52 first team matches and scored one goal.
In August 2017, Gershon embarked on his current journey with Maccabi Haifa in the Premier League in Israel, again for an undisclosed fee. However, as of the 2024-2025 season, he has yet to make a first team appearance.
Despite his lack of domestic appearances recently, the 36-year-old defender has demonstrated his abilities on the European stage, with three starts in both the Europa League 2023-2024 season and the Conference League 2023-2024 season representing Maccabi Haifa.
