The name of Raphael Onyedika has become synonymous with football in his home country of Nigeria and beyond. He first saw light on 19 April 2001 and recently celebrated his 23rd anniversary on this earth. He is a dedicated midfielder, primarily playing as a central defensive asset for Club Brugge. His physical stature cannot be ignored, standing at around 6ft (1.83m) tall and weighing approximately 11st 4lb (72kg). Fans would recognise him in the number 15 jersey, which he is known to don. His footballing abilities also caught the attention of his native Nigeria, granting him the opportunity to represent the national team.
Onyedika's career began to flourish during his debut season 2020 - 2021 at FC Fredericia in Denmark. According to official records, he made a commendable 28 first team appearances and successfully found the back of the net on three occasions. His reputation and prowess only grew from there. The following 2021 - 2022 season found him in FC Midtjylland (also in Denmark), where he once again demonstrated his worth, making 31 first team appearances and scoring two goals. In his final stint in Denmark, during the 2022 - 2023 season at FC Midtjylland, Onyedika graced the field six times as a first team player.
His career then took him to Belgium, where he joined the ranks of Club Brugge. In the 2022 - 2023 season, he again proved to be an invaluable asset, making 26 first team appearances. In the following season, Onyedika continued to make his mark with 21 first team appearances. The current season of 2024 - 2025 finds him still on the Club Brugge team, making 13 first team appearances to date and already having scored a goal.
Onyedika's career has not been limited to league play. He has also represented Nigeria and Club Brugge in various competitive football events. This includes Africa CON 2023 where he made an appearance as a substitute, World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026 during which he scored a goal in one start and made one appearance as a substitute. On a club level, he participated in the Pro League Play-Offs 2023 - 2024 for Club Brugge, scoring three goals in nine starts; the Conference League 2023 - 2024 for Club Brugge, scoring a singular goal in nine starts and making two appearances as a substitute; the Super Cup 2024 - 2025 for Club Brugge where he was seen once as a substitute; and he graced the Champions League 2024 - 2025 for Club Brugge with three commendable starts.
