Ross Laidlaw, a 32-year-old native of Scotland, currently flaunts his goalkeeping talents as the number 1 jersey for Ross County FC. Standing at an imposing 6ft 4in (1.94m), and weighing 12st 3lb (78kg), he adds some much-needed physicality to the line-up.
As noted by Transfermarkt, his current market value is pegged at approximately €300k (£256k). As for the contract he holds with Ross County, it expires on 31 May 2026 with 1 year and 5 months remaining.
The journeyman goalkeeper started his professional career with Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship back in July 2010. During his initial stint with Rovers (from 2011 - 2015), Laidlaw appeared in 32 league matches for them. Midway through the 2014-2015 season, he joined Elgin City of the Scottish League Two on a loan deal, featuring in 15 league matches for the Moray outfit.
Returning to Raith Rovers in July 2015 after his loan spell at Elgin City, Laidlaw continued his development under Raith Rovers. July 2016 saw another significant move as Laidlaw transferred to Hibernian FC in the Premiership. Unfortunately, during his tenure at Hibs, he only managed to turn out for the first team in 19 league matches spread across three seasons.
A brief loan spell at Dundee United in January 2019 proceeded before what has been his most recent and perhaps most impactful transfer. In July 2019, Ross County secured his services, and since then, he has been showering his shot-stopping abilities in the Premiership. During his time at Ross, Laidlaw has already made an impressive 143 first-team appearances.
During the 2024-2025 season, he has made 15 first team appearances in league matches for Ross County and has started three times in the League Cup. He also had two starts during the Premier Play-offs of the 2023-2024 season.
