Scott Tanser, born on 23 October 1994, is a 30-year-old defender from England. He is currently playing as a left back for St Mirren, wearing the number 3 jersey. Standing tall at 5ft 11in (1.81m) and weighing 11st 2lb (71kg), Tanser is quite the formidable force on the pitch.
His professional football journey began in July 2012 when he joined Rochdale in England's National League. In his first season (2012 - 2013) at Rochdale, Tanser marked his presence with a single first team appearance in league matches. His performances enhanced over time, culminating in 30 first team appearances with a single goal in the 2014 - 2015 season. However, his appearances lessened in the subsequent seasons, making only seven and five first team appearances in 2015 - 2016 and 2016 - 2017 seasons respectively.
Tanser changed clubs in January 2017, moving from Rochdale to Port Vale in League Two. Here, he made 11 first team appearances in the second half of the 2016 - 2017 season.
By July 2017, Tanser had transferred yet again, this time to St Johnstone in Scotland's Premiership. In contrast to his 29 first team games in the 2017 - 2018 season, by the 2020 - 2021 season, Tanser had racked up a total of 30 first team appearances, scoring two goals throughout the season.
July 2021 saw Tanser shift sides once more, moving from St Johnstone to St Mirren, also in the Scottish Premiership. Here, Tanser has maintained a consistent presence on the field, making no less than 30 first team appearances in each season thus far and scoring seven goals in total across all seasons. In the current 2024 - 2025 season, Tanser has made 17 first team appearances and scored one goal in league matches.
Further highlighting his commitment to the sport, Tanser participated in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren, making one start. He also made an appearance as a substitute in the Conference League Qualifiers 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren.
