Shea Charles, an English-born footballer, was born on 5 November 2003, which makes him a sprightly 20 years old. Charles currently plays as a central defensive midfielder for Sheffield Wednesday, showcasing his talent in the jersey donning the number 44. Physically, he stands tall at 6ft 2in (1.89m), and tips the scales at 12st 8lb (80kg). In addition to his club duties, Charles also proudly represents the Northern Ireland national team.
Charles' journey in football began in July 2011, when he joined Manchester City as a trainee, thus stepping into the stratosphere of the English Premier League. His rookie season, in 2022-23, saw him make a single appearance for the first team in league matches, a humble beginning for the then-young talent.
By July 2023, Charles had traded Manchester City's sky blue for the red and white of Southampton, with a transfer fee touted at around £11m. During his season at Southampton (2023-24), he demonstrated his value, earning himself 32 starts in league matches.
Less than two years since moving to Southampton, Charles was on the move again. This time, he found himself in South Yorkshire, loaned to Sheffield Wednesday, a respected club in the English Championship League. As of the current season (2024-25), Charles has participated in six first-team matches, in which he scored a noteworthy goal.
Whilst playing for his respective clubs, Charles also had the honour of representing Northern Ireland on the international stage. He took part in the Euro Qualifiers 2022-24, where he started nine games. Charles' international duty didn't end there; he also represented his nation in the Nations League 2024-25, gracing the pitch in the starting eleven for four games.
