Stuart Findlay, a native Scot and defender by trade, was born on 14 September 1995. He's a solid figure on the field, standing 6ft 3in tall and weighing in at 12st 12lb and is best known for his services to Kilmarnock, where he dons the number 17 jersey.
His early career was marked by a series of loans. Stints with Greenock Morton and Dumbarton offered him some Scottish Championship and League One experience, respectively. Nevertheless, his time with these teams were fleeting and by July 2015, Kilmarnock took him on loan. A year later, he cast off from Scotland, signing for Newcastle United in England's Premier League.
Findlay's time at Celtic was transitory, leaving no significant imprints. As a young lad, he was loaned out during most of his tenure. But his move to Newcastle United in July of 2016 marked the start of a yo-yo transition that saw him moving back and forth from Scotland to further down South and even across the Atlantic.
His initial years at Newcastle were mostly marked by a loan back to Kilmarnock in August 2017. He became a permanent member of Kilmarnock's crew in July 2018. After three seasons in stripes, he chased a new dawn in the states with the Philadelphia Union. His stay in the MLS was brief; he was back on British soil by July 2022, pulling on Oxford United's yellows in England's Championship. A year later, he was back in Scotland, virtue of a loan from Oxford back to Kilmarnock.
His appearances varied for each team he played for. His debut season at Greenock Morton witnessed 14 appearances, followed by 15 for Dumbarton. His innings at Kilmarnock amassed 127 appearances and seven goals over several seasons. A less prolific spell in the States resulted in 11 appearances for the Philadelphia Union. His only English venture with Oxford chalked up 28 appearances and a loan return to Kilmarnock the season after saw him step on the pitch 37 times. Currently, in the 2024-2025 season, he is yet to debut for Kilmarnock.
Off-field, he's also had a sprinkling of experience in competitions, with three starts in the Scottish Cup, and a single start in the Europa League Qualifications.
