Now in his thirties, he pitches his skills in the green expanse that is a football pitch as a lauded central defensive midfielder for St Johnstone. Standing steadfast at 5 foot 11 inches (or, for the metrically minded, 1.82 meters), Sprangler's presence is known; his 12 stone 1 pound (or 77 kilograms in convenient continental measurements) frame donning the esteemed number 23 jersey.

In 2010, when summer salutations were barely out of one's vernacular, Sprangler cut his teeth at SV Mattersburg in the Regional league of his homeland. From the 2013-2014 season, to the 2016-2017 season, he made a commendable impact with 91 appearances and 3 instances of truly spectacular goal scorching prowess.
2017 brought fresh winds of change for Sprangler, seeing him transfer from SV Mattersburg to the lofty heights of the Austrian Bundesliga with TSV Hartberg, making his mark with 35 first-team appearances.
Fast-forward a year later, Sprangler was again on the move, transferring from TSV Hartberg to Wolfsberger AC. His time at Wolfsberger was marked with its fair share of trials and tribulations and a total of 67 appearances across four seasons.
