Tommaso De Nipoti, born on 23rd July 2003, hails from the fine footballing shores of Italy. Now 21, he currently dons the black and blue stripes of Atalanta, a club rightly famed for its player development system. He is principally a forward, although, like many young players, he has the flexibility to assume multiple attacking roles. De Nipoti is a solid 5 foot 10 inches tall (1.8m), and weighs in at a lean 10 stone 3 pounds (65kg), making him a compact if not imposing presence in the final third.
It seems the arithmeticians at Transfermarkt have the lad pegged at a decent market value of £170k. Whilst it may not be a king's ransom in today's overblown transfer market, it does at least suggest a measurable quantum of promise and potential.
The young Italian began his professional journey in the dusty training grounds of Atalanta in the summer of 2017 as a trainee. Since then, De Nipoti has worked his way through the club's youth system and secured a senior contract. He made his first-team bow in the 2021-2022 season, featuring just once as a substitute. De Nipoti's appearances remained sparing the following campaign, clocking just a single appearance in league matches during the 2022-2023 season. His contribution to the 2024-2025 campaign remains untouched, having failed as yet to make a top-flight appearance this term.
De Nipoti formally transferred from Atalanta's U23 team, a side operating in the lower echelons of Italian football, to the full Atalanta senior squad in December 2023. His first team appearances, scant though they be, have maintained his status within Atalanta's Serie A complement.
Interest piques in his participation in the 2023-2024 Europa League, where he made an appearance off the bench for Atalanta. This suggests that the coaching staff at the Serie A club see potential in the young forward. At just 21, De Nipoti has plenty of time to mould himself into a top striker, and with the right application, he could be one to watch in the future.
