Zander Clark, a native-born Scotsman who arrived on this mortal coil on the 26th day of June in 1992, has made a name for himself as a formidable goalkeeper for Hearts. Beyond his club commitment, the reputable shot-stopper has also proudly sported the jersey of his national team, emblazoned with the distinct Scottish emblem. Standing at an imperial height of 6 feet 3 inches (1.91m) and weighing in at a respectable 13 stone (83kg), Clark brings an undeniable physical presence to his role between the sticks, adequately emphasised by his number 28 jersey.
According to the sage heads over at Transfermarkt, Clark currently carries an estimated market value of approximately £336k. His contractual obligation to Hearts however will soon draw to a close, with his remaining tenure set to conclude on the final day of May in the year 2025.
Clark's professional career commenced in earnest in July 2010, with his integration into St Johnstone within the Scottish Premiership. Throughout his tenure with St Johnstone, spanning over a decade, Clark took to the turf in a varying quantity of league matches, with performances fluctuating from a modest count of six in the 2015-2016 seasons to a notable 34 appearances in the 2018-2019 season.
In his pursuit of development and experience, Clark temporarily waved farewell to St Johnstone in August 2011, seeking pasture new at Elgin City within the confines of the Scottish League Two on loan. His time there saw him make 33 first team appearances in his debut season, before returning to his home club of St Johnstone in June 2012.
Testing the waters once more, Clark embarked on a second loan stint, this time in October 2013 with Queen of the South in the Scottish League One. Once again demonstrating his loyalty to the sport, Clark made a remarkable 57 appearances over two seasons, before promptly returning to St Johnstone in May 2014.
Heartfelt goodbyes were said in September 2022, as Clark retraced his steps from St Johnstone to Hearts, another staple of the Scottish Premiership. Now, two seasons in, Clark has clocked an impressive 58 first team appearances and doesn't seem to be showing any signs of slowing down in the current 2024-2025 season.
Clark's talents have also been recognised on an international level, as he had the honour of participating in the Euro Qualifiers 2022-2024 for Scotland, starting in two fixtures.
