It was on this day 44 years ago, on September 6, 1977 that striker, Tom McAdam signed for Celtic from Dundee United. He wouldn’t be up front for long, though, as Billy McNeill moved him back into defence as cover, and the try-out was such a success, that McAdam went on to make his name as a defender with the Celts.
