With all the righteous indignation of the zealot, there has been a cry from the ‘look at me’ brigade to rename streets in Glasgow after those who made their name and fortune on the back of the slave trade. Fair enough, but it would be more subtle simply to add a plaque noting that these guys were involved in some dodgy enterprises and was there for all to see. You cannot wipe out what has happened in the past unless, of course, you follow/followed two football clubs who play in blue...
