It was 99 years ago this very day, January 20, 1923, that a young hopeful made his debut in a game against Third Lanark at Cathkin in the role usually operated by the legendary Patsy Gallacher. Gallacher had also missed the previous two games through injury when the role was taken up by Calton Bhoy, Jim Cairney.
